Tying instructions
Step 1. | Step 2. |
Tie in a layer of Craft Fur, a few strands of Crystal-Flash, then another layer of Craft Fur. | Cut out the lip from Craft Foam as shown |
Step 3. | Step 4. & 5. |
Turn hook over in vise and attach Craft Foam from the bottom as shown, compressing the material as you wrap towards the eye. | With a razor-blade or sharp knife, slice a square section of foam about 2’’ long. Place the foam on top of the hook, with the end about a millimeter past the hook eye. Make a couple of loose wraps around the foam and pull down smoothly to compress the foam. This might take a couple of tries, once compressed, make about 12 medium-tight wraps to secure |
Step 6. | Step 7. |
Tie in Ice Chenille underneath foam layer, bring thread to front and wrap forward, tying it off behind the lip. | Lay the foam over the top and make a loose wrap1/8’ -3/16” back from the front. Make sure the thread is square (exactly perpendicular) to the foam and pull smoothly to compress. Make 12 medium-tight wraps to hold it. |
Step 8. | Step 9. |
Fold the lip back and whip-finish in front of it under the foam. | Lift the foam that hangs out of the back behind where it is secured and wiggle your scissor tips under it, careful not to cut your thread and make a clean cut to remove excess foam. Coat all thread wraps over the foam and at the eye with Softex or Flex Cement. |
